Cody Martin

The Reverend Chaplain Cody Martin is a native Oregonian, who lives in Portland, OR.  She holds a B.S. in Marketing from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA, and a Master of Divinity from Western Seminary, Portland, OR.  Cody worked as the men’s manager for Nordstrom before God called her to pursue studies at Western Seminary.  She served as a Young Life leader, orchestrated a weekly dialogue with Reed College students, and volunteered in pediatric oncology at Doernbecher Children's Hospital. 

Cody is a chaplain at OHSU and OHSU/Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.  martinco@ohsu.edu She is a Professional Certified Chaplain (PCC) with Healthcare Chaplains’ Ministry Association www.hcmachaplains.org, completed clinical training with Clinical Pastoral Education www.acpe.org at the Portland Veteran’s Hospital, and is pursuing her clinical certification with Association Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE).

Cody lectures on “Pastoral Care to the Dying” at Western Seminary, “Supporting Patient’s Existential Spiritual Process in End of Life Care” at OHSU School of Nursing, “Spirituality & Medicine” at OHSU School of Medicine, is a women’s’ retreat speaker, occasionally fills in the pulpit, and recently lectured on “Success & Suffering in Leadership” at Kazakhstan American Free University in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan.

Cody’s parents live in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Rodger is a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Charter Mechanical in Tualatin, OR, and is a Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) discussion group leader.  Suzanne is a former Women’s Ministry Director and also a BSF discussion group leader.  Cody’s brother, Justin, graduated from Willamette Law School and practices law in Lake Oswego. Cody’s sister, Christine, graduated from professional make-up artistry school in Hollywood and practices her art in Los Angeles, CA.
